2021 Ford Explorer XLT Sport Appearance Package Price Revealed - Ford Authority

Back in February, we reported that the 2021 Ford Explorer XLT Sport Appearance Package was making a comeback for the new model year. The package, designed to appeal to younger buyers, consists of a host of unique interior and exterior features, and was a strong seller on previous Ford Explorer models. The only question left to answer about this new/old package was how much it will cost, and now we know that, too.

Ford Authority has learned that the 2021 Ford Explorer XLT Sport Appearance Package will be priced at $1,595. And since the 2021 Explorer received a price cut across all trim levels, buyers will get even more for their money. The rear-wheel-drive XLT carries a base MSRP of $34,000 for 2021, minus Ford’s $1,245 destination and delivery fee. Opting for all-wheel-drive raises the price an even $2,000 to $36,000.

The 2021 Explorer XLT Sport package adds the following features and equipment:

Exterior

• Unique Carbonized Gray-painted 20-inch wheels, plus matching
• Grille
• Skid plates
• Hood lettering
• Dual chrome exhaust tips

• ActiveX Light Slate two-tone seats with accent stitching, matching
• The center console lid and door trim panels

The addition of the XLT Sport Appearance Package coincides with a few other minor changes to Ford’s three-row crossover, including a few new exterior colors and a handful of enhancements to the interior of the Explorer ST. Additionally, recent spy photos seem to indicate that an off-road focused model – possibly an FX4 model – is in the works.

As Ford Authority was first to report, 2021 Ford Explorer order banks opened on July 13^th, 2020. Production began on September 21^st, 2020 at the Ford Chicago Assembly Plant, where the Explorer is built alongside the Lincoln Aviator. The sixth-generation Ford Explorer is all-new from the ground up, and rides on the same Ford CD6 platform as the Aviator.
