Donald Trump Jr. took a swipe at Hillary Clinton Saturday, joking to his Twitter followers that she was behind the death of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The remark came in response to a Clinton jab at his father, President Trump, for his “sarcastic” suggestion to Americans that disinfectant could be used to treat COVID-19.
“Please don’t poison yourself because Donald Trump thinks it could be a good idea,” Clinton said.
Trump Jr. responded, adding a wink emoji: “We know, we know … poison is reserved for a long list of people like Jeffrey Epstein … and servers. Am I right?”
Bill Clinton was known for his long relationship with Epstein. Flight logs show the former president took at least 26 rides on the billionaire sex offender’s plane — dubbed the Lolita Express — according to records obtained by Fox News.
Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges. He was found dead inside his jail cell in New York City’s Metropolitan Correctional Center on Aug. 10. The medical examiner later ruled his death a suicide, though significant questions remain.
Multiple guards who were supposed to check on his well-being throughout the night fell asleep on the job, and security cameras footage from outside the cell was also unusable. Former New York medical examiner Michael Baden said autopsy evidence suggested the true cause of death of “homicide.”
