Production will take place at Ford's Cuautitlan Assembly Plant in Mexico, where the Mustang Mach-E is also assembled. The regular combustion-powered Explorer variants will continue to be assembled in Chicago, however. But why is the Explorer getting first preference? Well, the Explorer is one of the Blue Oval's longest-running and most successful models, and since it is sold abroad too, it makes sense that Ford aims to present a face of electric expertise worldwide. As for performance figures, we can only guess at this point.
