E-News | Microsoft to retire Internet Explorer in June 2022, WVU employees should update browsers - WVU ENews

explorexs.blogspot.com

Microsoft has announced it will retire Internet Explorer June 15, 2022. WVU faculty or staff who are still using that browser should transition to a more modern tool such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

Microsoft ended IE support for Teams last year and for other Microsoft 365 products on Aug. 17. Azure Virtual Desktop will be affected on Sept. 30.

Although IE is built into the Windows operating system and cannot be easily removed, it is likely that Microsoft will eventually remove IE from future OS updates. Information Technology Services has stopped testing system upgrades and new services for compatibility with IE.

If your college or department has a service that only works with IE, contact your support unit for assistance.
