Edinburg High School football player Emmanuel Duron attacked a referee after being ejected during Thursday’s game against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo in Edinburg, according to The Monitor’s Andy McCulloch and various videos of the incident on social media.

Footage depicts the referee announcing the ejection and Duron rushing onto the field to tackle the referee.
The Monitor reports Duron was escorted out of Richard R. Flores Stadium by police officers and the referee was evaluated for a concussion.

Edinburg defeated PSJA, 35-21, to advance to the Class 6A playoffs.
