Beta weakened into a post-tropical cyclone late Tuesday, as the storm heads toward the northeast, bringing heavy rainfall from eastern Texas into the lower Mississippi River valley.
The storm was located about 30 miles east-southeast of Houston with maximum sustained winds of 30 mph, as of 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Beta made landfall as a tropical storm over Texas Monday night.
