A house which once belonged to polar explorer Dr Edward Wilson, a fallen hero of Captain Scott's Antarctic expedition, has just gone on the market for £985,000 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

The renowned explorer, ornithologist and natural historian was one of the first medical doctors to reach the South Pole. Sadly, he and Captain Scott passed away while returning from the South Pole in March 1912.

We are at the top of a dead end lane and there is no through road. It's a tree-lined drive and as you come up to the top of the hill and take in the view, you feel like you have arrived.'
